Claims Coordinator

Full Time | Cedar Falls, IA

It is the responsibility of the Claims Coordinator to oversee the timely and efficient filing of all claims, to maintain regular follow-up with ‘in-process’ claims, to re-file and appeal denied claims in an assertive and professional manner, upholding integrity while securing payment effectively.

Essential job functions

  • Maintain claims caseload, prepare necessary paperwork and submit in a timely manner meeting department deadlines.
  • Utilize insurance portals or other software for timely completion and follow up of claims.
  • Follow up with claims in process via phone call or other appropriate communication
    channels within department timeline goals.
  • Retrieves and processes incoming mail, fax, and payment remittance notices in
    accordance with department processes daily.
  • Receive payments and process following department procedures.
  • Work cross-departmentally to ensure timely, accurate claim processing.
  • Document CRM as required in department processes to ensure knowledge is shared and customers’ experiences are consistent.
  • Communicate with leadership regarding quality concerns, safety issues, and overall big picture health of the department (efficiencies, ideas, needs, etc.)
  • Come prepared to regular 1:1s with assigned agenda and top-of-mind items.
  • Support sustainable practices by reducing waste and resource use while contributing to efforts that lower emissions and improve energy efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned
