June is Pride Month, a time to honor the LGBTQ+ community, celebrate progress toward equality, and recognize ongoing struggles for rights and acceptance.

Join us at TTMT in our online communities as we celebrate Pride Month. We emphasize the importance of inclusive vocabulary in AAC, benefiting everyone. Having the right words to discuss gender and sexuality is essential for all people who use AAC for improved safety, health and happiness.

Our world is filled with diverse, beautiful people with varied experiences of gender and sexuality. Everyone, including people who use AAC, needs language to express themselves fully. For LGBTQ+ AAC users, this means sharing their identities and participating in conversations about who they are. For others, it means having the words to discuss these universal topics.

"As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I understand the profound impact of having the right words to express our identities. Inclusive vocabulary in AAC systems empowers us to share our stories and connect deeply with others, fostering a world where everyone can be seen, heard, and valued."

- Lizzie Dobson, TTMT Marketing Associate

Inclusive vocabulary in AAC allows all users to ask questions, seek support, and share thoughts with loved ones and professionals. This fosters understanding and connection, creating a more inclusive world. Imagine not being able to discuss your identity or ask important questions. Everyone needs the language to express themselves and understand others. It’s a universal need.
