A new eye gaze division at Smartbox
We’re excited to share that GazeFirst, the German eye gaze company, is now part of the Smartbox Family.
Founded in 2023 and based in Frankfurt, GazeFirst has already made a strong impression in the world of assistive technology. Their flagship product, the eyetuitive camera, is one of the first AI-powered eye gaze solutions on the market – offering intuitive calibration and cross-platform compatibility.
The potential for us to continuously develop the features and performance of the camera, in line with the needs of people who use AAC, is a really exciting prospect for our teams. By bringing this technology and expertise in house we can work together to develop a world-class experience for our users, with robust product testing and insights from all corners of the Smartbox Family.
“This is a huge moment for the Smartbox family. We’ve been using eye gaze technology since 2006 and have seen the life-changing impact it can have – empowering people to access their AAC devices and communicate independently. Now, with an AI-powered solution that we’ll design and develop in-house, we’re taking the next step. This innovation will help us deliver the most intuitive, responsive, and empowering eye gaze experience yet – directly supporting our mission to give everyone a voice.”
Dougal, Group CEO, Smartbox
We’re looking forward to working together to make eye gaze more accessible, reliable and empowering – supporting our shared mission to ensure everyone has a voice.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to scale eyetuitive and make it accessible to a very wide user base, enabling us to reach far more customers than we could on our own.”
