Director of Human Resources

As the Director of Human Resources, you will play an essential role in preserving Smartbox’s extraordinary culture and values while continually pursuing a diverse, accessible, equitable, and inclusive workforce. Exceptionally focused on putting people first, your team will handle all personnel file management, staff onboarding and exit, recruiting/hiring, and employee development programs within the organization. You will be encouraged to seek clarity and remain well-informed about U.S. HR policies and laws.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain the employee handbook and ensure compliance with DOL, OSHA, ADA, and other labor regulations
  • Serve as the go-to resource for workplace, medical, and grievance-related issues
  • Own the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, retention, succession planning, and offboarding
  • Lead, coach, and develop your HR team
  • Partner on payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Track HR metrics and trends, reporting regularly to senior leadership
  • Model ethical leadership and champion diversity, inclusion, and sustainability

Requirements

  • Three years of HR experience, required
